I HAVE read with interest Margo Grimshaw's dim view of the drinking culture in Blackburn's town centre pubs and clubs. Also the view of P A Lynch (Telegraph, July 26) "Let's Have Decent Places for Decent People."
There are such places and one is on Blackburn Road in Great Harwood.
It's a social club that does not charge any entry fee for live entertainment, beer or lager is £1.30 or £1.40 per pint and there are concessions on shorts.
This club is central, but loutish behaviour is not tolerated. It is a family club with experienced staff who do their utmost to make your night out a memorable occasion.
Some nights there are karaoke competitions for the devoted DIY singers. Every generation seems to amalgamate together and everyone has a great night out.
I'm sure if it can be done in one town, then this sort of club could be achieved in another, even Blackburn. Decent people are entitled to decent places!
