A GROUP of entertainers have raised £2,000 for charity by singing their way to the hearts of their audiences.
Ted Selby and his Entertainers have toured around nursing homes and community centres across the borough to raise cash for Bury Hospice.
The Mayor of Bury, Councillor Barry Briggs, joined the group of singers at Abbeywood Nursing Home, Market Street in Tottington, for the presentation of the cheque to Bury Hospice fundraising manager Mervin Reeves.
The entertainers, including keyboard and violin players, have raised £10,000 for charity during the last three years. So far, they have performed more than 240 shows throughout the three years at venues across Bury, Bolton and Manchester.
Mr Selby said: "It is a good time to do nice things and raise some money for charity. We know what kind of entertainment these people want and will travel across the region to provide it."
