THE Royal Lancashire Show could switch back to being a weekend event, the president of the society which organises the event said today.
And despite plaudits from police and Ribble Valley Council over the professional organisation of this year's show, Thomas Bowring insisted there were more lessons still to be learnt.
The final day of the show, at Salesbury Hall Farm, near Ribchester, was blessed with sunshine and high temperatures, ensuring a bumper turnout.
And Mr Bowring, from Caton, near Lancaster, said: "I wasn't here last year but many people have commented how much better this year's event has been. That said, we are not complacent, and we will listen to any criticism or comment which is put forward. A lot has been learnt in the last year, and the show team got it 99per cent right.
"Things which need to be looked at include pedestrian access to the equestrian ring, electricity and water supply to certain parts of the site and couple of other minor things.
"Last year, it took people three hours to get on and off the site. This year, it's taken 15 minutes at most. That's a massive improvement."
Mr Bowring added: "A lot of people have asked why the show isn't at the weekend any more, but a lot of people have also congratulated us for holding it midweek again.
"It's something we'll have to look at but I don't think we'll ever be able to please everyone."
