DOG fouling and under-age drinking were two issues highlighted by residents at a community meeting in Darwen this week.
A scheme, Police and Community Together (PACT), was launched at Earcroft Community Base and involved police officers and local councillors listening to the concerns of people in areas such as Belgrave, Avondale, Birch Hall, Anchor and Hollins Grove. Community beat manager PC John Sergeant said: "These are issues we are aware of generally but the meeting gives the residents the opportunity to put their individual problems forward.
The aim of the scheme is to try to tackle them within the month so we can report back at the next meeting."
The next PACT meeting is at Earcroft Community Base on September 1, at 6.30pm.
