A 22-YEAR-OLD man was a passenger in a stolen car when it crashed injuring the driver.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Barry John Coupe accepted a lift in the vehicle not knowing it had been taken without consent.
But he accepted, realising the reality when the car stalled during the journey and the driver had to 'hot-wire' it to re-start the vehicle.
Coupe, of Lawrence Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to being carried in a vehicle taken without consent and driving while disqualified on a separate occasion.
He was made subject to a community rehabilitation order for 12 months, disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £200 with £150 compensation.
