CARLA Acton is angling to raise cash for her favourite charity.
The seven-year-old from Leigh joined grandfather Ken Buxton on the banks of Partridge Lakes Fisheries for a sponsored fish to help add to the thousands of pounds she has already raised for Medic Alert.
Carla, a pupil at St Thomas CE Primary School, Leigh, is also a rosebud princess for the Greater Manchester Carnival Association and proudly displayed her regalia as she hoped for a big bite.
The youngster has been supporting the charity -- which helps promote knowledge about illnesses including diabetes -- since she became rosebud last September.
Youngsters from the carnival association raise money for a different charity each year. Her grandfather is a coach for the National Federation of Anglers.
Mum Jayne said: "She just loves raising money for charity.
"She has done all sorts of sponsored events with her friends and this was just a way of her keeping busy during the summer and raising some more for the charity.
"Her grandfather is a very keen fisherman so he's been giving her plenty of tips."
