YOUNGSTERS are being invited to a council meeting to discuss plans for a new youth centre for Nelson.
Bradley ward councillor and former mayor Mohammed Iqbal has extended the invitation as part of a bid to update the current facility on Leeds Road. He said: "The current building has been there since the 1960s and it was built as a temporary measure, yet here we are 40 years later expecting the young children of today to put up with a shabby building which has far outlived its lifespan. I have invited young people to come to the meeting to tell councillors their issues and problems."
The meeting will be held in Nelson Town Hall at 7pm on Monday.
