A SERIES of free workshops is being held to boost the skills of those involved in voluntary and community groups in Pendle.
The council's community economic development officers have organised the events to give organisations a chance to share their experiences and learn new skills.
Workshops include mental health awareness on August 2 and disability awareness on August 9. Other courses include a six-week drug awareness course every Tuesday afternoon, starting on September 28 and an eight-week first aid course one afternoon a week starting on September 24.
The events are open to groups with staff or volunteers who live or work in the wards of Vivary Bridge, Waterside, Bradley, Whitefield or Brierfield.
Organiser Andrea Goodall said: "These workshops have been very popular in the past and are a great opportunity for local people to learn some vital new skills and share their experiences."
Courses must be booked in advance. For more information call Andrea on 01282 661981 or e-mail andrea.goodall@pendle.go v. uk
