ROBBIE Blake has declared himself fit to lead Burnley into battle against the Germans!

The Clarets skipper returned to training yesterday afternoon after suffering a tweaked hamstring that ruled him out of Tuesday's opening game in Austria.

And Blake was today given the green light to lead the line against Bundesliga Two side Munich 1860 in Freilassing this evening (5.30 Kick off).

Blake said: "Everything is fine now, I've missed a few days and I think the hamstring was just a bit stiff.

"But the physio has done a good job and I'm raring to go tonight now. Luckily I haven't missed too much training with the lads resting since Tuesday's game and I feel ready to go again."

However, manager Steve Cotterill is unlikely to pair Blake with strike partner Ian Moore at the start of tonight's game - the last before Burnley open their First Division campaign with a home game against Sheffield United next Saturday.

Moore, who has played just 60 minutes football in pre-season, has also declared himself fit after coming through his first training session of the Austrian trip on Thursday and training again yesterday with no reaction.

But Cotterill is reticent to throw the striker back into the front line too early in his rehabilitation, although he is expected to feature at some stage.

Burnley's opponents tonight play their football in the shadow of the mighty Bayern Munich.

1860, who had Croatian striker Davor Suker in their front line three years ago, were relegated last season after finishing next to bottom in the Bundesliga.

However, there is a strong belief in these parts that only the falling standard of German league football in the top flight halted their demise earlier.

The Clarets opponents are expected to mix things up for tonight's game, which takes place just over the German border close to Salzburg.

A sprinkling of first teamers will participate, with some U23s players also on display.

One player who may feature is Australian striker Paul Agostino, who English fans may remember from the two years he spent with Bristol City between 1995 and 1997.

Blake admitted: "I don't know a lot about 1860 Munich, but whoever plays they will be a good German side and it will be another physical test for us.

"But we have to get tested before we face Sheffield United nest weekend, so it should be another good game for us."
