BRAVE workers at a supermarket in Leigh tried to fend off an armed robber with a baseball bat.
But they were forced to hand over the takings when a second robber threatened them with two knives.
A masked man entered the Kwik Save store in King Street on Saturday at around 7.40pm and demanded cash.
Staff challenged him and refused to hand over the money.
A second man walked in and made a further demand.
The two men escaped with a small amount of money and then made off in the direction of the Moonraker pub.
Anyone who witnessed this incident is asked to contact the cid at Leigh on 0161 856 7252 or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
