A MAN was injured in a suspected machete attack in Padiham early yesterday.
Police called to Malvern Avenue found a man with a wound at the top of his back, which they believe was caused by a machete.
They said the incident was believed to have involved the occupant of a house in Malvern Avenue and three other men.
Two men have been arrested and charged with wounding.
Steven Atkinson, 40, of Beech Street, and Stephen Marsden, 43, of Malvern Avenue, both Padiham, were due to appear before Burnley magistrates today.
A resident who did not wish to be named said police armed response units attended the scene.
He said: "The police came and they cordoned off the street. Everybody was told to keep inside and the police were there until 7.30am."
