YOUNG people in Water will be working with artists to create images of their village.
The project is being run as part of the Rural Opportunities Across Rossendale (ROAR) scheme, organised by charitable group Community Futures.
It is being co-ordinated by Gillian Smith, community development officer for Community Futures and is also being run in Edenfield, Helmshore, Grane, Rising Bridge, Loveclough, Weir, Britannia, Whitworth and Cowpe.
Funding for the project was secured by Youth4ria, Rossendale's Youth Council, from the Countryside Agency.
Young people in Water will be working with an artist for half a day each week during August.
When the pieces are completed they will be used in a calendar to promote each area involved in the project.
Young people in Water start their art project at Water Primary School, in Burnley Road East, on Friday, at 1pm.
For more information about what is happening in other areas telephone Gillian on 01772 717461.
