RESIDENTS are angry at proposals to transform a working men's club in the Daisyfield area of Blackburn.
Two petitions have been received by Blackburn with Darwen Council opposing the new use of Cob Wall Working Men's Club, Daisy Lane, as a restaurant, function hall and conference facility.
The first, with 31 signatures, opposed it on grounds of noise, potential for large groups to gather and the fact the car park on the site was used by local residents.
There are a further 32 letters from residents, although only 11 are from people who haven't signed the petition.
A second petition has since arrived, with 75 signatures, rearing an increase in traffic, rats, rubbish, filth on streets and disturbance to elderly residents.
A report to last week's planning and highways committee said the proposal was still under consideration by officers.
