SUSPENDED battler Garry Flitcroft watched the game from the stands but lifted the trophy along with captain-for-the-day Henning Berg.
He was obviously delighted to see his team mates win the game against the odds without the suspended trio Tugay, Craig Short and himself.
And he praised the 30,000 Blackburn fans who made the trip from the North West to South Wales.
"It was great," he said. "I am made up for the lads, they worked their socks off. It was brilliant.
"I am made up we won the game. The fans were superb and it was nice to be able to give them something back and go and thank them after the game for all the support they have given us."
And he praised keeper Brad Friedel who pulled off save after save to keep Rovers' noses in front.
"Brad was outstanding. He was the first person I went to congratulate after the game.
"He had a big impact on us winning the game. They had a lot of chances and they put pressure on us.
"But I think it showed the strength the lads have to come through. It was nice to go up and lift the cup."
But he underlined the importance of getting back to business straight away and focus on Saturday's relegation six-pointer against Bolton
"Now I am just looking forward to the next game when I am back. It's a massive game for us."
