A SERIES of events to promote the canal corridor in Pendle will take place over the next two months.
The Canal Corridor Development Strategy Programme will include three canal clean-up days on Sunday, August 8, at Lob Lane Bridge in Brierfield, on Saturday, August 14; at Lomeshaye Road bridge, Nelson and on Sunday, August 22 at Seed Hill bridge, Pendle Street, Nelson. All the events will be held from 10am to 2pm.
A presentation on the history of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal will also be given at the next meeting of the Tacklers' Trail Group at Nelson Town Hall at 2pm on Monday, August 16.
Live music, canal boats, stalls and workshops will feature at an Our Canal; Our Heritage event at Swinden playing fields in Nelson from 11.30am on Saturday, September 11 and open days will be held at St Mary's Church, Nelson from 11am to 4pm from September 10 to 13.
