A TEENAGER from Colne has been nominated for two awards for her work looking after elderly people.
Zoe Whittacker, 19, a former Primet High School pupil, is celebrating after being nominated by Pendle Training.
She has just completed her advanced apprenticeship in care while working at Peel Gardens in Colne.
She has made such a good impression that she's been shortlisted for Care Learner of the Year and Care NVQ Level 3 Learner of the Year.
Initially she took a GNVQ in Health and Social Care before contacting Pendle Training to apply for an apprenticeship.
For the last two years she has been at Peel Gardens, a residential and nursing home in Colne, looking after more than 40 of their residents:
Zoe intends to go to university and study for a Registered General Nursing Certificate.
But for now, she is looking forward to when the winners will be announced at the Pendle Training awards evening at the Fence Gate, Fence on August 19.
