A FASCINATING glimpse into the past awaits visitors to Wigan's History Shop.
Wigan Heritage Service's Family Album exhibition (until August 25) displays some of the thousands of photographs donated by the public and collectors alike over the years.
Many show families posing for formal studio portraits or enjoying family occasions, others feature people at work or play, and attending public events.
Visitors will also find a Victorian studio set where, if they bring their own camera, they can pose for photographs in period costume.
The History Shop, Library Street, Wigan is open: Monday, 10am-7pm; Tuesday - Friday, 10am-5pm and Saturday, 10am-1pm.
