A DEPUTY manager was held at knifepoint during an armed raid on a Prestwich supermarket.
Three masked men entered Lidl on Bury New Road through a back entrance on Thursday around 8.20pm.
After threatening the deputy manager, who suffered a minor cut to his hand and a bang to the head, the raiders escaped with a substantial amount of money in a red L-registered Volvo. It is unclear in what direction they headed.
Now police are anxious to trace witnesses to the incident which they said left several members of staff extremely shaken. The men were all wearing balaclavas, dark clothing and jeans. Anyone with information is asked to called Whitefield CID on 0161 856 8240 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
