A FEMALE stylist who gets on very well with men and a male hairdresser who has a great rapport with the ladies make a great team.
Jill Lawrence, 32, opened the gents' salon, Boys2Men, in Lord Street, Blackpool, about three years ago.
"I chose to focus on men's hairdressing because I feel I get on well with male clients," says Jill, who launched her first Boys2Men salon in General Street in 1992.
But when, Boys2Men stylist, Paul, sold his own business and joined her, quite a few of his female clients followed him. More and more women started visiting the salon and now there is an evenly-balanced, mixed clientele.
This has prompted Jill to step ahead professionally, with gay community member, Paul, and she's looking forward to opening a new, trendy unisex salon, The Funky Hair Company, in Church Street, on November 1.
Dry cuts cost £5.50 for men and £7 for ladies and appointments are only necessary for treatments which take more time, eg colouring, perms, ec.
Boys2Men opens six days a week from 10am-6pm. Tel 294324.
