THANK you for printing my letter on July 1 in the Citizen.
I am pleased to say there has been some improvement in the state of the bowling green, just what I'm not sure if they have seeded it only time will tell.
Why couldn't they returf it or even patch the green up next to the cafe until there is one ready (which I don't suppose will be next year) but they have just left us to go to North Drive which isn't convenient and a way out without a car.
If they had done the top green up, told the kids to keep off, with notices that their parents would be fined if they didn't, put some goal posts up on the other green also make a cycle track around it so they have somewhere to play.
We could have given the cafe a bit of trade with buying tea specially on the league match days and Saturday the mixed doubles we like to play, those few kids here deprived the older generation of a bit of pleasure, exercise and recreation.
Having read the Wyre "Voice" this morning that we have got a new set of brushes in the Wyre Borough Council "sorry gentlemen" but you've heard the old saying, but there's not one mention about Cleveleys.
It's a good job we have local papers where we can air our views.
I'll just make one point about the sea defences which to me is a non-starter until they get the money, is that bit about some more free or reduced rates on the North Prom do they mean Rossall Prom?
If so, I counted 60 cars the other Saturday and quite a few empty spaces. Now I don't mind but these people come from the inland towns for a ride out and get some fresh air and see the lovely sun sets, bring their own food and drinks etc., don't spend a penny in the Cleveleys shops and to cap it all when my friend who has a little car when she goes shopping has to pay 80p when it only used to be 40p.
Where is the justice in that I ask you. I could go on but it would take up a whole page in the Citizen. Sorry.
