YOUNG writer Laura Hoath showed how well-versed in the art of poetry she was with a competition entry that really was on song.
Ten-year-old Laura, of Holcombe Village, Ramsbottom, was one of 15 winners in the Walking Oliver Poetry In Song Competition organised by the Times Educational Supplement.
Chosen from more than 1,300 entries, The Bus That Has No Sheep In will be used as the lyrics for an original piece of music.
The songs will be written by internationally renowned classical tenor Paul Austin Kelly and guitarist composer Richard Durrant, and featured on a CD for children.
The Bury Grammar pupil's poem was inspired by her dreams and impressed judges with its mixture of the absurd and real.
Her mum Helen said: "Laura has written other poems and stories, and she loves reading."
Laura's schoolmate Lucie Shaw was also a winner with her poem You've Fractured My Heart.
