A COFFEE morning in aid of Trinity Hospice will be held at Bispham Methodist Church on Saturday, July 31, 10.15am-11.30 am. Admission will be 50p.

FLEETWOOD'S Marine Hall hosts a night of soul on Saturday, August 7. Sounds ranging from northern soul and Motown to up-to-date jazzy grooves will be played in two rooms. NORTH SHORE
NORTH Shore's Methodist Church's sixth 'Summer Special' of the season takes place on Wednesday, August 4 and features The Accordion Band playing a wide range of excellent music, including requests. The concert starts at 7.30pm at the Dickson Road church and admission is £3.50 on the door. All proceeds will go towards the the second phase of the refurbishment of the 'art nouveau' windows.
BLACKPOOL
PREPARATIONS are well under way for one of the biggest annual events in the Blackpool calendar. The North West Lions Carnival takes place on Sunday, August 1, from the prom at 11.30am.
BLACKPOOL'S University of the Third Age (U3A) discussion group next meets at CVS, Abingdon Street, on Wednesday, August 4 at 2pm. New members welcome.
MOLYNEUX Social Club for over 60s meets 6.30pm-8.30pm every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at the community centre, Molyneux Drive. Bingo takes place at 7pm with a break for tea, coffee and biscuits at 7.30pm. Admission free (there is an annual membership fee). The club also runs special functions and outings, a Christmas party, monthly raffle, savings club and more. Just turn up or contact the secretary on 403797 for more details.
LIVE Poets Unlimited meet for friendly discussion and a read-a-round at Central Library, Queen Street, on Monday, August 9 at 1pm. All poets welcome - all standards.
LAYTON
LAYTON Permanent Allotments Association is holding an open day at its allotments on Beckway Avenue. Fresh allotment produce will be on sale at bargain prices and there will be various stalls selling goods in aid of charity. Plot holders will also be happy to show you around. Weather permitting, the event takes place 11am-3pm.
