GRAHAM Barrow has a real selection headache ahead of Saturday's opening game of the season -- and he's delighted.
With four strikers chasing two starting places for the visit of Yeovil, the Bury boss has a tough decision in who to match up as his first choice strikeforce.
All four front runners, Jon Newby, Graeme Jones, Dave Nugent and Chris Porter, have been on target in the club's pre-season schedule with Nugent grabbing three in the last two games.
But it's a problem that Barrow is happy to have at present and one he's desperate to have in other areas of the field.
"I definitely have a dilemma up front," he said.
"That's the way I want it, I want as many headaches as possible all over the park and you just have to judge it off what you see. It could be a four-striker start, in as much as we may need to share the workload. We have good options."
Nugent, in particular, has caught the eye of Barrow in recent weeks and the manager believes the 19-year-old's improved heading ability can be key.
"It's noticeable that Dave has started heading the ball again," he said.
"This time last year he got a nasty knock in the face at Blackburn and broke his nose.
"It seemed to stop him heading the ball for six months, but he looks to have come through that now and he's a better player for it.
"The new boys we've brought in have legs and can play but they just need a little bit of time to gel as a team."
Skipper Dave Challinor is back in training after injury and could line up against Yeovil .
One problem for Barrow, however, could be the lack of goalkeeping cover for Glyn Garner.
Barrow and his staff are continuing to have a look at trialist Kristian Roberts, the 23-year-old Chester-born keeper, who was released by Sheffield United in the summer. He began his career with Wrexham and has had loan spells at both Rushden & Diamonds and Macclesfield Town.
