A FIRE engine was involved in a collision on the M60 as it was responding to an emergency call on Wednesday.
The vehicle was travelling anti-clockwise along the hard shoulder of the M60 at junction 17 at Prestwich shortly before 1pm.
The crew were on their way to deal with a car on fire on the hard shoulder when the fire engine was involved in a collision with a Volkswagon Passat.
Two passengers in the car had to be freed from the vehicle and were taken to hospital where they received treatment for minor injuries.
A short time later, an accident occurred on the outside lane of the M60 on the opposite side.
Two cars were involved but no one was injured.
The M60 was closed for a short time while the scenes were being cleared.
