A CAR landed sideways on top of a taxi after an accident in Blacksnape Road, Blackburn.
The two passengers in the taxi, a Toyota Corina, and the driver of the Peugeot 106 escaped with minor injuries following the crash near the junction with Roman Road at around 7pm yesterday.
But they were taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary as a precaution after being cut free from the wreckage.
It was initially feared that the driver of the Peugeot had serious head injuries, but that diagnosis later proved incorrect.
The road was closed while the people were cut free and the Peugeot and the taxi, of M&M taxis, based in Higher Audley Street, were removed.
The road policing unit was today investigating how the smash happened.
