A BOGUS official tricked his way into the home of a 82-year-old man and his 79-year-old wife.
He called at the house in Brunswick Street, Bury, and asked about what medication they were taking before leaving. The couple later realised the visitor was bogus and have been left very shaken.
Nothing was stolen during the incident.
Police are warning residents, particularly the elderly, to always check the identification of anyone who knocks on the door.
