HEATON Park is the place to be this summer with a host of activities for local school children.
Organised by Manchester City Council, the "School's Out" programme is already under way at the Prestwich park and there is also a chance to learn about horse riding and horse care.
Activities take place each day for children aged eight upwards and there are multisport activities for disabled children up to 16 years of age.
The programme of activities is as follows:
Monday am: horse riding and horse care, cricket, miniature gardens
Monday pm: horse riding and horse care, stream pond cleaning, circus skills
Tuesday am: horse riding and horse care, hockey
Tuesday pm: horse riding and care, green woodworking, percussion
Wednesday am: horse riding and horse care, pitch and putt, football
Wednesday pm: horse riding and horse care, orienteering, circus skills
Thursday am: horse riding and horse care, woodland wildlife walk, baseball
Thursday pm: horse riding and horse care, pond dipping, percussion
Friday am: horse riding and horse care, angling athletics
Friday pm: horse riding and horse care, art in the Temple, circus skills
