THE full line-up of entertainment at this year's Darwen Gala has been revealed.
Booklets detailing the free activities are available in various places around town including Darwen Town Hall, Darwen Library and the Lancashire Evening Telegraph office in Bridge Street.
The gala will kick off at 11am on Saturday, August 21, with junior morris dancing at Holy Trinity School followed by the assembly and judging of the parade floats in Anchor Road.
The colourful parade will leave Anchor Road at 12.30pm and make its way through the town centre to the gala field in Borough Road.
It will be officially opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Blackburn with Darwen, Councillors David and Karimeh Foster, at 1.30pm.
Blackburn with Darwen Junior Band will entertain the crowds at 1.40pm before children's entertainer Mike Falcon takes to the microphone.
There will be two eagle and vulture shows at 2.30pm and 4pm and for the braver people there will be a chance to star during a karaoke disco at 4.30pm.
Evening entertainment will begin at 5pm with a mixture of blues and rock music from The Session at 5.30pm and Irish music from Darwen's own Gone Beggin at 7pm.
There will also be a karaoke and disco during the evening with the gala closing at 8.30pm.
Other attractions will include a fun fair, up to 50 stalls, performing arts displays in the main arena, a beer tent and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council's marquee with a movie theme.
