ACCRINGTON Stanley have received a £2,000 rap on the knuckles from the FA for their poor disciplinary record last season.
And the Reds have also been handed a £5,000 suspended fine if their abysmal table of shame does not improve this term.
Stanley, who had feared the initial fine would be far higher, had an incredible 15 players dismissed last season in addition to over 70 yellow cards.
And although manager Eric Whalley has accepted the club's fine, he has ensured that any future fines his players receive will come out of their own pockets.
He said: "It makes me sick to be throwing £2,000 down the drain like this, and the players know exactly how I feel.
"It's been made clear to them in no uncertain terms that they will pay future fines themselves because they are the ones responsible."
Meanwhile Stanley, who begin their Conference campaign at home to Nigel Clough's Burton Albion next Saturday, have loaned Jonathon Smith and Steve Flitcroft to Nationwide Conference North outfit Barrow for a month.
