A YOUNG actor from Rossendale has added to his growing reputation after been nominated for an award.
Sam Aston, 11, from Bacup, who plays cheeky Chesney Brown in Coronation Street, has received a nomination for best newcomer in the National Television Awards.
Sam, whose other roles include a part in The Bill and in an advert for Dairylea cheese spread, hails from the Aston acting
family. His older siblings Emily and Thomas have also starred on the small screen landing roles in the controversial TV adaptation of Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit by Accrington-born author Jeanette Winterson, and medical drama Peak Practice respectively.
Sam will find out if he is successful at a glamorous awards ceremony to be screened on ITV1 at the end of October.
