ATHERTON CC's rising young batsman Karl Brown took the applause after passing an astonishing milestone.
The teenage opening batsman who is on the junior books of Lancashire CCC and has representated England at junior level, reached the 1,000 runs for the season target during last Saturday's game against Lostock.
Karl, 17, needed 45 to reach his target and went on to make 83 with six games still left in the season
