PLANS are in hand for a radio controlled mini stock car racing club.

Dave Boardman from School Street, Tyldesley and fellow enthusiats are hoping to develop the sport in the Leigh area using petrol or nitro powered 1/6th to 1/8th scale racers.

Dave said: "These cars are raced at circuits up and down the country every weekend with the nearest venue to here being Nottingham.

"This type of racing is growing quickly and is a good family spectator attraction. The cars run on tarmac or gravel tracks and can be enjoyed by both adults and teenagers alike.

"At present we have no proposed site (any farmers out there want to rent out an unloved field ?).

"We aim to run the club on a non profit making basis, and cater for as many people as possible as this sport can be enjoyed just as much by the able bodied and the not so able bodied." If you are interested in the idea of a club or know of a suitable site email Dave at daveboardman1@aol.com orspeak to him on 01942-897632.
