PHIL Starbuck has swooped to further boost his squad in the opening week with the signing of left-back Gregor Rioch.
The 29 year-old former Macclesfield, Shrewsbury Town and Hull City defender arrived at Hilton Park on Monday after being released by Conference rivals Northwich Victoria.
He made an immediate impression with a solid performance at Burton on Tuesday after replacing Martin Moran.
"I'm delighted with the signing and the job that he has done for us so far", said RMI manager Starbuck.
On the eve of the new campaign, Leigh clinched a deal to bring experienced non-league striker Alex Meechan to the club.
The ex-Forest Green man started his career at Swindon and Bristol City but on opting for a move from the West Country, he chose RMI over full-timers Barnet after trialling for both clubs in pre-season.
