REGULARS at the Masons Arms will raise more than a glass this Bank Holiday weekend.

The Ramsbottom pub is to host a three day fund-raising event for a teenage boy who has been diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Bradley McNally (13), is in hospital undergoing intensive treatment. His father Derek, known as Decker in the town, was a regular at the pub, until work commitments meant he had to relocate to Bristol with his family.

The pub is appealing for help from local businesses to ensure the fund-raising is a success.

Licensee Phil Greaves said: "The regulars are trying to raise as much as possible to help Bradley and his family over the tough months ahead. We have organised various events over the Bank Holiday weekend to include a karaoke, a pub quiz and pub Olympics.

"A raffle will also be taking place and we need as many prizes, donations and sponsors as possible to help the McNally family."

He added: "Whether small or large a donation is much appreciated."

Subject to the weather, the pub is also planning to hold a summer barbecue.

Businesses wishing to help or those wanting to enter a team of four in the pub Olympics, should ring Mr Greaves on 01706827330.
