A DISGRACED former councillor has been banned from taking public office for five years for bringing the authorities in to disrepute.
On Tuesday the Adjudication Panel for England found Bill Chadwick, who sat on both Lancashire County and Preston City councils, breached the city council's Code of Conduct by making indecent photographs or pseudo photographs of children.
Paragraph 4 of the code states: "A member must not in his official capacity, or any other circumstance, conduct himself in a manner, which could reasonably be regarded as bringing his office or authority into disrepute".
Last March he was convicted at Liverpool Crown Court of 18 counts of making indecent photographs or pseudo photographs of children and fined £1,000, after which he resigned as a councillor from both authorities.
