RESIDENTS saw a man running away from a car seconds before it burst into flames.
Firefighters turned out to Frankton Road, Whitefield, at 5am on Thursday and managed to extinguish the flames in the front passenger seat before they could cause further damage to the Honda Civic.
The car, valued at £1,100, had been stolen several hours earlier from Oak Avenue in Whitefield.
