SCHOOLGIRL Nicola Jones knows all about flower power!
Her sunflower in the garden of her home has shot up to more than 11ft, and it's still growing.
So much so that Nicola has to stand on a chair to water the sunflower, one of four planted in the garden of her Parr Lane, Unsworth, home.
Together with her chums at Unsworth Primary School, Nicola was given the seeds in March when the pupils became involved in the Greenfinger Appeal. This organisation raises money through sponsorship to build gardens at children's hospices.
Since the seeds were planted, the sunflowers have grown and grown . . . and show no sign of stopping.
Nicola is now the envy of her school friends and is amazed at the height her sunflowers have reached.
