A THRIVING Stubbins company has clinched a £4.5 million contract following a two-stage competitive tender process.

Strategic Team Group, one of the UK's fastest growing suppliers of building and property solutions, has been awarded the contract for a three-year improvement project on behalf of Bradford Trident.

Under the initiative, which forms part of a 10-year £50 million regeneration scheme for certain areas of Bradford, STG will be undertaking external facade improvements.

These include repairs and improvements to a minimum of 360 domestic properties.

Works embrace building new walls, replacing old gates and guttering and ensuring properties meet specified decency standards.

As the principal contractor, STG will also carry out improvements within individual properties to ensure health and safety standards are met and that any problems identified through initial surveys are corrected.

Bosses at STG, located on the Cuba Industrial Estate in Bolton Road North, are delighted with the contract.

Earlier this year, the company announced that it had invested £650,000 in a new headquarters in Leeds but would be retaining its existing base.

Wayne Noteman, housing projects manager at Bradford Trident, said: "STG were our first choice because of their skills, commitment and enthusiasm. We feel they are best qualified for the job and capable of delivering a high level of service through what appears to be a highly motivated team."

Charles Tweed, business development director of STG, commented: "We are delighted to have secured this project as it demonstrates the effectiveness of our team and our ability to accommodate a broad range of requirements both sensitively and cost effectively."
