DARWEN are making a weekend of it as they try to keep league and cup hope alive.

They go to Barrow for the first time in the Northern Premier League tomorrow and will stay overnight to take on Kendal on Sunday in their final group game of the Thwaites Smooth Bitter Cup.

Both teams have won all three of their group games so far, so whoever takes the decider will go into the semi-finals, the losers hoping to qualify as the best runner-up.

This is a route Darwen will have to take if they are to progress in the league's Twenty20 Cup and they are due to find out this week.

Neil Cordingley will be missing from the Barrow clash but will rejoin the team for the cup game with Kendal.

Andy Cook replaces him on Saturday, while Chris Clarke makes way for Cordingley on Sunday.

Chorley are at home to Leyland Motors in the Northern Premier League tomorrow.
