A BLACKPOOL pensioner only found out she was the victim of a burglary when her dumped handbag was found in Manchester. The 85-year-old woman answered the door at her Beechfield Avenue home on Tuesday between 3.30pm and 5.30pm to a man claiming to be a drain cleaner. Police believe he stole her bag after tricking her into going into the back garden. The bag was found at 7.30pm that night by the River Irwell, Manchester. The offender was described as white, about 30, 5ft 4ins tall and thin, and dressed in dark grey, possibly a suit. He had short, mousy brown hair, a pale face and a northern accent.
