COLNE have differing fortunes at opposite ends of the pitch for their visit to Nantwich Town tomorrow.

Goalkeeper Ross Baxter will be missing for two games after picking up a knee injury in Tuesday's 1-0 defeat to Fleetwood, but last season's 60-goal strikeforce will be back in business.

Ian Simpson, who missed the Fleetwood game, and Carl Howarth, who has been away coaching in America, will be available to manager Nigel Coates, who is hoping for a vast improvement from midweek.

He said: "We were awful in the first half. We bucked up a bit in the second but didn't create enough chances."

Coates was hoping to sign a goalkeeper to replace Baxter as the Telegraph went to press.

BACUP BOROUGH kept up their 100 per cent record with a second win of the season at home to Squires Gate on Wednesday.

Manager Brent Peters said: "I wasn't happy with the way we were giving away possession, but it's a good start - six points from two games, four goals for and none against."

Bacup are looking to maintain their home record against Atherton LR tomorrow.

The other Atherton team, Collieries, are at RAMSBOTTOM, who drew 3-3 with LR in midweek to stay unbeaten under new manager Derek Egan.

GREAT HARWOOD TOWN will be looking to build on their 3-0 win over Curzon Ashton when they entertain Alsager Town.
