GREENMOUNT picked up a win and a winning draw to maintain their Bolton League title challenge.
On Saturday, at Farnworth they restricted the home side to 130. Mark Stewart was the leading wicket taker with 5 for 50 from his 25 overs.
After losing Gary Chadwick for a duck in the first over, the villagers didn't look back, thanks mainly to Indian professional Nishit Shetty who hit a useful 64.
Youngster Ryan Senior (20) gave them a sound base before David Morris (29) and John Ashworth (7) saw them home for the loss of three wickets inside 32 overs.
Sunday proved as frustrating a day as Saturday was a successful one when Horwich were the visitors to Brandlesholme Road.
After being put in to bat by the Bolton side, Greenmount were making hard work of setting a testing total and at one stage were 88 for 5 with none of their early batsmen hanging around too long.
However a superb seventh wicket partnership between Nigel Franklin (45 not out) and Stewart (59 not out) took them to 224 at the end of their 50 overs.
But in the end they proved victims of their own success, because after having the visitors 9 for 2 after eleven overs, Horwich shut up shop and played for a losing draw, making no attempt to chase the Greenmount total as they finished on 163 for 3.
