IAN Craney has got that winning feeling, and he doesn't want to let it go.

The Accrington Stanley midfielder's wonder goal against Morecambe paved the way for an impressive away win on Tuesday night, although the modest youngster admitted: "I just closed my eyes and hit it."

But Reds fans can expect plenty more where Craney's opener came from.

The former Altrincham star, who turned 22 last month, has been a prominent figure in attack during all of the pre-season games, and scored in the 4-2 win over Preston North End.

"I keep trying as many shots as I can," he said.

"As soon as I hit the one against Morecambe I knew it was going in."

But Craney was quick to praise his team-mates for earning their second consecutive win, giving them confidence going into tomorrow's trip to Stevenage Borough.

"The lads were unbelieveable in the first and second half on Tuesday, and we showed that we can be up there and be contenders to win the league," he said. "I thought we were too good for Morecambe at times."
