BURNLEY Council is set to review its policy on providing disabled facilities grants.
Consultants will be brought in to review the grants system in the light of new Government legislation, providing the move is approved by the council's Executive Committee.
The council's policy on providing grants for disabled people to make adaptations to their homes has remained unchanged for several years.
In a report to the committee the policy now needs to reflect changes in legislation which allow new initiatives to be developed.
This would include the council providing help to disabled people who would rather move to more suitable accommodation than receive a grant to make alterations.
Carole Galbraith, executive member for housing, said: "The council policy has been unchanged for some time and is due a review.
"The changes, resulting from this review, will enable the council to give a better service to disabled people in Burnley."
