A DARWEN mother whose son was almost killed after copying stunts from controversial TV show Jackass is outraged that a website dedicated to the programme had been re-launched.

Allyson Hughes, 41, of Tunnel Street Darwen, says the boys behind the stunts will not learn their lesson until someone is killed.

Her son Joe Armstrong, 11, who starts secondary school in September, suffered horrific burns after recreating stunts from Jackass with friends in April.

Police investigated at the time but no criminal action was taken.

Now, after a complaint from Mrs Hughes, police say they will review the photographs on the relaunched website to determine whether to prosecute.

Joe was seriously injured when petrol was thrown on a fire he was jumping over while being filmed for the website, Live Now Die Later, which was shut down by its creators as a result.

But after seeing the latest pictures in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph, Mrs Hughes said: "I am raging mad that this is happening again.

"It feels as though I am being laughed at. My son has been scarred for life and seeing this has bought what happened back to him again when he has tried so hard to forget it."

She added: "It is going to take somebody to die before this dangerous behaviour stops - it was almost my Joe.

"I just can't see how after coming to visit him in hospital and seeing his injuries they have not learned a lesson.

"I have been telling the police all along that this is still going on and I hope they will do something about it.

"The boys in those pictures are so young and don't realise what they are doing when they fall under the spell of fire."

The website - which was taken down again over the weekend, returned under a different address with the slogan "LNDL is back". It featured 18 new pictures of stunts, including teenagers walking across a bed of flames and setting their hair alight.

Detective Inspector Ian Critchley said: "We worked with other agencies including social services in relation to the information that was brought to our attention previously and we will be doing the same again in relation to the new information.

"We will review photographs from the website and decide with the Crown Prosecution Service whether any criminal offences have occurred and if we can investigate further."
