STAFF at a newsagents were threatened by masked robbers armed with baseball bats and knives.
Cash, cigarettes and phone cards were stolen in the raid at Dillons Newsagents in Sunnybank Road, Unsworth -- the second time this year that the store has been targeted by armed raiders.
Shortly before 10pm on Sunday, three men wearing balaclavas burst into the store, threatened the staff and forced them to hand over money from the tills, cigarettes and phone cards. The raiders put the goods into black binbags before running out of the shop. None of the staff was injured although they were left in a very distressed state.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact the CID at Bury on 0161 856 8247 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
