A DRUNKEN man who launched two racial attacks as part of a gang has walked free from court.
Burnley magistrates heard how Qamir Ashraf, 20, who was in breach of a conditional discharge, showed some remorse for his behaviour.
Ashraf, of Chapelhouse Road, Nelson, admitted using racially aggravated threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, two charges of racially aggravated common assault, all on June 4 and failing to surrender.
He was given 160 hours community punishment and told to pay £150 compensation. The bench made no order for costs.
John Rusius, defending, said Ashraf was very sorry for getting involved. "The defendant is a changed character and won't be before the courts again."
