THE sale of the former Barnoldswick ambulance station and adjoining land is expected to be approved at a meeting of Pendle Council's Executive Committee tomorrow evening.
In a report to the executive from the estates and property services manager, it has been recommended the council except the highest offer for the building, currently £87,500 from a Mr JR Southwell.
The Bank Street property was declared surplus to council requirements in November 2001 and the estates and property services manager was authorised to submit a planning application for residential development, which gained outline consent in February.
The building has been falling into disrepair and there are fears that the condition of the building may attract vandals if it is not sold soon.
The meeting takes place in the Town Hall, Nelson at 7pm. Members of the public are invited to attend and ask questions of the executive.
