POLICE in Great Harwood are appealing for witnesses after 20 cars on the same estate were targeted by vandals.
All the cars were parked around the Ash Lane area, in the early hours of Saturday.
Officers say vandals used a sharp implement to scratch the cars, and even engraved offensive words on two of the vehicles.
Now police have letter-dropped the whole area, asking for help from residents who might have seen or heard anything.
PC Helen Jackson, of Great Harwood police, said: "We are hoping that the community in that area will give us the information we need to apprehend these offenders."
Vehicles parked on Westcliffe, Northcliffe and Ash lane were all targeted in the crimes, which caused an estimated £5,000 damage to the privately owned cars.
