MICHAEL Gray has given a confidence booster to his team-mates ahead of tonight's daunting visit to Arsenal by declaring: "They're not unbeatable".

The Blackburn Rovers left back says that they are ready to snatch history away from the Gunners, who are shooting for a 43rd consecutive league game without defeat.

If Arsene Wenger's men achieve it, it will beat the all-time English record set by Nottingham Forest, which has stood for 26 years.

But Gray said: "They're not unbeatable. They've got to get beaten one day so why not tonight? There's no point in playing if you don't think you're going to win the game.

"We have just got to look at it as 11 v 11. We know we've got to be on top of our game, but we've got quality in our side and know we can give anybody in the Premiership a game of football.

"There's a record there for them to break and we don't wan't to be a part of that so we're going there to try and upset this record."

Arsenal equalled Forest's run of 42 successive league games without a loss when they came back from 3-1 down at home to Middlesbrough on Sunday to win 5-3.

It continued a remarkable stretch which started back in May 2003 after they lost 3-2 at home to Leeds to surrender the title to Manchester United.

They went through the subsequent Premiership campaign unbeaten and haven't lost an away match in the top flight since March last year -- at Blackburn.

The reigning champions now sit top of the table once again, having already struck nine goals in their two games this season.

"They look awesome at the moment and attacking wise they are a joy to watch," said Gray.

"When they are on TV it's exciting to sit back and watch them but when you are playing against them you have to try to beat them.

"We've been working on what we can do to stop Arsenal playing and how we can create chances for ourselves."

While the free-scoring statistics suggest a frightening night for Rovers, who lost despite scoring twice at Southampton on Saturday, Gray is confident their own attacking prowess can cause their hosts a headache at the other end.

He said: "When you play against Arsenal you've got to attack. You can't sit back and let them come on to you because they've got so much quality that they will just eventually break you down.

"We're scoring goals and played some really good football in the games we've played so that's what we'll keep on doing.

"On the opening day we thoroughly deserved to win the game and the draw was disappointing but we took good points out of that and went in to Southampton."
